Remarquée en 2015 à l’occasion du 60ème Salon de Montrouge,
Caroline Trucco prend ses quartiers à Appartement à la rentrée 2016 pour sa première exposition personnelle.  Intitulée Un chapelet d’îles noires accroché à l’horizon, l’artiste déploie ses errances poétiques, plastiques et géographiques sur les murs, les radiateurs, les niches, le piano et le parquet d’Appartement.

A travers une œuvre protéiforme associant photographie, sculpture, installation, vidéo et  poésie, l’artiste invite le visiteur à interroger les notions d’exotisme et d’ailleurs. Particulièrement attirée par les sculptures et autres fétiches de la collection de Nathalie Miltat, Caroline Trucco se les approprie dans des installations originales, qui rejouent de façon critique le musée ethnographique. Ainsi, l’artiste se fond avec brio dans le décor au point de brouiller les limites entre ce qui fait partie de l’exposition et ce qui fait partie d’Appartement.

Imprégnée  de ses lectures d’Edouard Glissant et de Victor Segalen, l’exposition conçue par Caroline Trucco, dessine les contours d’une cartographie mouvante où les intimités et les lieux se rencontrent et se mêlent dans une invitation au décentrement de la pensée et de l’imaginaire.

« Cette exposition a comme fondement l’évocation de migrations et circulations croisées, celle des hommes mais aussi des objets culturels auxquels ces mêmes populations sont rattachées. L’exposition est régie par l’idée d’archipel, c’est à dire composée d’îlots d’éléments, de fragments ayant la faculté de rentrer en résonnance, en relation, avec comme écho la pensée Glissantienne Agis dans ton lieu, pense avec le monde! Des installations prennent forme dans une confrontation directe avec la collection personnelle de Nathalie Miltat. »

Noticed in 2015 on the occasion of the 60th Salon of Montrouge, Caroline Trucco takes up her quarters in the Appartment in September of 2016 for her first solo exhibition. Entitled Un chapelet d’iles noires accroché à l’horizon  “A string of black islands hanging on the horizon”, the artist depicts her poetic, plastic and geographical wanderings on the walls, heaters, niches, on the piano and the parquet of Appartment.

Through a protean work associating photography, sculpture, installation, video and poetry, the artist invites the visitor to question the notions of exoticism and elsewhere. Particularly attracted by the sculptures and other fetishes of the collection of Nathalie Miltat, Caroline Trucco appropriates them in original installations, which critically replay the ethnographic museum. Thus, the artist blends brilliantly into the scenery to the point of blurring the boundaries between what is part of the exhibition and what is part of Appartment.

Impregnated with her readings of Edouard Glissant and Victor Segalen, the exhibition designed by Caroline Trucco, draws the outlines of a moving cartography where intimacies and places meet and mingle in an invitation to decentering thought and the imaginary.

“This exhibition is based on the evocation of migrations and cross-circulations, that of men but also of cultural objects to which these same populations are attached. The exhibition is governed by the idea of ​​an archipelago, that is to say, that it is composed of islands of elements, fragments with the faculty of returning in resonance, in relation, and echoing with the Edouard Glissant thought’s of : “act in your place, Think with the world!” Facilities take shape in a direct confrontation with Nathalie Miltat’s personal collection. “
